Selfie photo search for event galleries

Help guests start with the photos they may be in.

A large event collection can take time to browse. PhotoBet uses a guest’s selfie to look for matching faces in that event’s processed photographs, giving them a smaller set to review.

How the search works

One event.
A more focused search.

The photographer uploads the event’s photographs and checks processing. The guest opens the shared gallery, follows its access steps and reads the face-search information before choosing whether to supply a selfie.

PhotoBet looks for similar faces in that event’s processed photos. The guest reviews the returned images and downloads where the gallery allows it. In a paid-originals gallery, browsing and selfie search are free; purchasing an original is a separate step.

This is not a public search across other photographers’ private events or the wider web. Follow the full guest journey.

Before you send the link

Test the experience with someone in the photos.

Use a known example

Choose a small collection you are allowed to share. Ask a consenting person who appears in it to try the guest flow on their phone after processing finishes.

Review the results

Check whether expected photos appear and whether any result belongs to someone else. A clear, well-lit selfie may help, but it cannot guarantee a match.

Complete a download

Test an image that the gallery makes available. Finding a result and being allowed to download it are separate parts of delivery.

A result is a match to review, not proof of identity.

Lighting, angle and the available photographs can affect results. Some photos may be missing, and an incorrect match is possible. Do not use face search to verify who someone is or promise that guests can only ever see themselves.

Choose access settings separately. Review the privacy notice and the gallery’s face-search information before using the workflow.

Keep another route to the photos.

A guest may decline a selfie, have camera trouble or fail to find a photograph. Some gallery settings allow wider browsing. When that is unavailable, the photographer should arrange another way to deliver the requested images.

Guest help covers camera access, missing results and downloads. Never ask guests to send a selfie or access code through the general contact form.

Start with a small collection

Create a small gallery with photos you have permission to share. Open it on a second device and check the guest experience before choosing a paid plan.
